Extension of exchange of letters between ICANN and NRO/RIRs
Dr. Paul Twomey
President & CEO
ICANN
Dear Dr. Twomey,
This letter is conveyed to you by the Number Resource Organization on behalf of
the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), AfriNIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, and RIPE
NCC.
We would like through this correspondence to reconfirm our commitment to
ICANN stated in our letter dated 17 December 2007 including our voluntary
contribution to its budget. We continue to view our relationship with ICANN as
essential to the stability and interoperability of the Internet and more specifically
its Addressing system.
We wish to reiterate our willingness to review our current arrangement within one
(1) year of the date of this letter to reconfirm our commitments or to enter into a
more appropriate formal relationship with ICANN if at such time this becomes an
issue of priority for either party.
For avoidance of doubt, nothing contained in this letter shall give rise to any
liability, monetary or otherwise.
We look forward to continue working together with ICANN in the interest of all our
stakeholders.
Yours Sincerely,
Adiel A. Akplogan
Chair, Executive Council (2009)
